Literacy

At Kensington Community High School we have a strong commitment to improving the literacy skills of all students. Students in Years 7-10 participate in structured literacy sessions with a diverse range of resources aimed at engaging adolescents. To improve students reading and comprehension,  Independent Reading is scheduled in all year levels.

Strategies to improve students reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are incorporated into all subjects. There is an emphasis on developing the skills students require to comprehend everyday texts and those that they will encounter in employment.
