Electives: year 7-10

  • Art

    In Art, students plan and make their art works in response to exploration of the art

    elements, learning a variety of techniques and processes used in the work of other

    artists. They demonstrate the use of materials, techniques, processes, visual

    conventions, and technologies to express ideas and convey meaning in their artworks.

  • Media

    Media centres around the planning, production, and post-production of a Media narrative product, determined by each student’s chosen medium. This will include but is not limited to; filmmaking, animation, audio/sound design, and photography in a collaborative, student-centric learning environment. Students will learn how to pitch and plan a story and work throughout the term to bring that story to life visually.

    Students will get hands-on, practical experience with basic technologies, with the opportunity to express themselves creatively in group settings.

  • Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)

    In Dungeons and Dragons, students participate and lead a strategy-based game on students’ collaborative and problem-solving skills. Students use their imagination and creativity in a term-long D&D campaign.

  • Food Technology

    In Food Technology, students are required to use equipment and techniques to

    prepare food safely and hygienically for healthy eating. They will be able to do this by cooking and preparing various food types. Furthermore, students will be able

    to identify and categorise food into food groups and describe the tools and equipment required to prepare food for healthy eating. Students will come to understand the importance of a variety of foods, sound nutrition principles, food preparation skills and food safety.

  • Minecraft

    Minecraft is one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects offered by the school. In Minecraft, students use the computer science platform to develop their knowledge and ability to demonstrate their coding skills.

    Furthermore, students develop their communication, teamwork and ICT skills.

  • Fitness

    In Fitness, students refine a range of specialised knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to their health, safety, wellbeing, and movement competence and confidence.

    ​Students will participate in a range of fitness-based activities, exercises, and group classes to improve their own personal health, wellbeing and fitness.

  • Robotics

    The perfect entry into the fun and creative world of coding and robotics. Students get to create, build and program robots using the Lego Mindstorms technology. Students will learn coding principles such as functions, loops, if statements, variables, lists, booleans

    and recursive algorithms and then complete challenges! They will also build real robots and program them to do fun and amazing things.

  • Team Sports

    In team sports, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, such as: dodgeball, soccer, basketball and a range of competitive sports. The students are able to build their knowledge and understanding of the rules associated with sports and develop their skills against healthy competition.

  • Bike Ed

    The Bike Ed program gives students the opportunity to learn about safe riding behaviours, road rules and riding in a shared environment.

    Bike Ed uses practical lessons to ensure riders have the physical abilities to ride safely and independently.

  • Music

    The group music class introduces students to various musical instruments and singing.
