Our Principal
Rhys has worked at Kensington Community High School for over ten years. As per Kensington Community High School’s Strategic Plan (SSP) his focus is to increase the wellbeing and active engagement of all students in their learning to drive improvement in student outcomes.
Prior to becoming substantive Principal, Rhys was the Acting Principal at KCHS during Semester 2, 2022 and an Assistant Principal for the preceding three years, focusing on the areas of teaching and learning, student management, and teacher development.
Rhys believes in creating opportunities for students to engage with their learning and participate in extra-curricular activities. Rhys is responsible for the strategic resourcing of the school, building projects and the School Council.
Our Assistant Principal
Adam is focused on teacher development and building the capacity of others. Passionate about developing teacher practice and ensuring all young people have access to education. Adam is responsible for Professional Learning, managing the KCHS Teaching and Learning Program and Staff induction.
Adam completed a Masters' in Instructional Leadership through Melbourne University in 2021 and has experience in curriculum and instructional improvement.
Prior to being appointed AP, Adam was a teacher at KCSH for five years, teaching literacy to the senior year levels, overseeing the VCAL program and managing the school’s online management system.
Our Teaching Team
Our teaching team are passionate about working with students to bring out their best. Our teachers and students are supported by an equally dedicated team of Educational Support staff.
Each classroom has two teachers – a lead teacher and a support teacher – plus an educational support person.
Wellbeing Lead
Maddy is a Social Worker and the Leader of Wellbeing at Kensington Community High School. As Leader of Wellbeing at KCHS, Maddy works with the wellbeing team in improving student engagement, wellbeing and attendance. She supports our students in re-engaging in their learning and working with the staff to provide the best support in class for our students.
Furthermore, Maddy also supervises social work students, art therapy students and a provisional psychologist.
Prior to beginning at KCHS, Maddy completed a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours at RMIT. She has had experience working within schools, at Berendale Specialist School and has worked to support young people through Child Protection.
